In a burst of freakish coincidence, the shrimp is both the easiest sea creature to catch, and the easiest to cook. As a result, some folk from seafaring towns have been known to call shrimp 'eggs of the sea'. Both are considered over-easy.
If you burned rather than sauteed a shrimp, congratulations! In some towns, a burnt shrimp is considered a rarity, such is the negligence required to make one.
