Are you sure you want to be an acolyte? It's long hours, thankless, and the Staff of Subjugation will be constantly whipping your shins. People don't usually volunteer for the position.
You'd be doing yourself a favour. Even the life-expectancy of a demon summoners is longer than an acolyte. You might even make it into your thirties.
