It is said that the origins of the scimitar come from Al Kharid, where skilled swordsmen would wield them in a dazzling manner akin to a dance. Travelling dignitaries would be wowed by the spectacle, applauding great choreographed sword clashes that dramatized legendary battles of history’s past.
They were brought to Ashenfall by a noble family during the god wars, who had taken up the scimitar as their weapon of choice, in service, of course, of the mighty Saradomin. This family was proud and pious, which made them all the more concerned when their daughter was one of the first to show signs of Amalgamation.
Love, for once, triumphed over prejudice, and the family scorned their wealth and prestige in order to protect their child and they joined many others who fled the growing unrest in the village of Bramblemead and travelled north to Fellhollow. There, they taught the secrets of the scimitar to the local blacksmiths, and the weapon found itself a great deal of popularity in the times to come.
