A tree is a beautiful and wayward thing. It grows in twists and contortions, curling towards light and water. Place a seed and you cannot predict which way it will grow, if at all.
So, what do you do? You cut it into a precise 2x8 format and line them up next to each other. If one has an imperfection, you toss it away as waste.
