Nothing has adapted to the Scorch better than the kalphite. Even the KotHaar have to take occasional precautions, returning to shade and cooling their bodies. But the reason you see so many kalphite in the desert is because they thrive in it, growing in numbers while goats, desert devils and other creatures can barely survive.
The human condition is, of course, to see something admirable and then kill it and wear it. Lo, we have Scorch Leather: kalphite, reduced to a potential hat.
