Oak rod is much like its anagram: it's an A-OK rod. Not brilliant, not terrible.
It's a rod that you will you look back on fondly when you wield the mighty maple rod. "Ah, I remember when I used to use an oak rod", you will say, as you bite the head off a live catfish and stand astride a pile of infernal eels.
