The stunted kalphite wing comes from, perhaps unsurprisingly, a stunted kalphite, which is one of the saddest beings in all of Ashenfall. Imagine sharing thoughts with everyone around you, as the kalphite do, and knowing that they think you are a good-for-nothing runt. The other kalphite don't get to hide behind social niceties: their opinions are immediately accessible.
Of course, all of that is moot now that you have killed the stunted kalphite. Bet you have mixed feelings now.
