Mouldfinger never wanted to be chief, unlike the other goblins she aspired to be just a background character – happy and forgotten while she worked on her own things. She enjoyed working with wood, bone and, on those special occasions, metal.
She crafted a sword, a simple blade that was sturdy and strong, and the other goblins went wild because of it. Seeing its sharpness, they became convinced it was magical, or imbued with the power of their draconic overlord. It wasn’t, it was just very well made.
She was made chieftain after the others challenged her, and her sharpened blade cut easily through their defenses. A fate she had never wanted, and a fate she could never escape.
